Just a quick one!

This is just a quick post.  I am headed to Pennsylvania this weekend to celebrate my grandson's third birthday.  It should be a fun (if not relaxing) time!

I am still playing with mokume gane.  I just love this technique.  As you slice away the layers, it is like opening a wonderful surprise package!  The first ones have a jungle look I think.  The lavender series was designed to go with the blouse shown in the picture.  I prefer more contrast, however, this does match nicely.

Put this necklace on before, but I have been practicing with lighting and camera settings.  I believe this is a better photo

I was accumulating quite a stash of scrap clay, so I decided to experiment with loading the clay extruder with a handful of scraps rolled into a log.  I used the square template, and then built a cane of 9 squares.  The result was quite interesting I think.  I also used a ripple blade to create the bails and stripes on the pendants.  Here are some of the pieces:

Happy Mother's Day!
