Ready to get back to work...

Well, it took me a day to unwind! My head was just spinning from my "Art on the Farm" experience. It was everything I had hoped for and more. It was a beautiful drive to Vermont, and Christine and Doug welcomed me like we had known each other forever.

Christine is an amazing, talented artist, and so very generous in sharing her knowledge of polymer clay, especially surface techniques. She nudges, but does not direct your efforts. She is an encouraging teacher who allows you to experiment and develop your own style with new tools and techniques. She also provides information about products and sources. I surely got my money's worth!! I can hardly wait to finish some of the practice pieces and venture forth!!

2. Posting some photos.  I just made some textured pieces, and tried several different techniques.  None of these are finished.

Show and Tell

I participated in the Keene Art Tour May 3rd and 4th.  I was at Jim Murphy's studio along with Erin Stewart.  Jim provided us with great display space, and we had a wonderful time.  Here are a couple of photos of our setups. 

I had gone to visit my family the weekend before, and am posting a couple photos of the kids as well.

Shortly after getting home, I came down with bronchitis, and haven't posted, done any work, or added anything to Etsy--grandma's ought to have built in immunities--we have put in our time!!!

Spent some time this afternoon with the furry children--they are just so cute, all 11 of them!!!

It's Showtime!!!

Random chatters about beads and other matters!

Busy and exciting week.  There has been a good response to my Etsy shop, and I have been working on some new items.  We had a challenge at the Walpole Coop to create "Vineyard Theme" pieces.  I did the pictured necklaces in "grapey" colors, but have some other ideas in the works.  Photography was a challenge this week with all the clouds...

I have signed up to participate at "Art on the Farm" with Christine Damm in May.  I can hardly wait.  Three whole days of learning and playing with clay on a beautiful farm in Vermont.  Check her out at www.storiestheytell.blogspot.com.  She is a very talented artist, and a nice person as well.

Last, but not least, have to share a photo of some gorgeous Yorkie puppies that belong to a friend.  They have just opened their eyes, and look ready to get into mischief!

 

 

 

 

Ready, Set, Go...

Just about ready to send out emails, and launch the Etsy shop.  I am so excited!  Here are a few new things that I will be featuring.  They will be listed today.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/studiocatsmeow.

Yeah! I did it...

I did it.  I got my Etsy shop, (Studio Cat's Meow), and my Facebook business page (Cat's Meow Polymer Jewelry) up and running.  It took me a while, but I really learned a lot in the  process.  I hope that you will visit both sites, and feel free to offer suggestions or comments (be gentle!).  I am new at this, and still have a lot to learn.

I did get a new set of mokume gane pendants completed.  I can hardly wait to put them together, which I will do as soon as I finish this post!  I posted a few photos to show the process which I hope you enjoy.


















 



As I wrote in my last post, I am planning to spend more time on my jewelry business.  I am currently in the throes of setting up an Etsy shop!  I thought I was pretty good on the computer, but the challenges of social media can be daunting.  I am muddling through, however, and hope to have my shop up shortly.  Facebook is next on the agenda!  I'm sure some of you can relate!

In the meantime, I have gotten a few more things done.  These will be posted on Etsy soon.
